MIC JITT

The Stephen M. Lawlor Medical Intelligence Center (MIC) is activated to support the public health and medical response to and recovery from emergencies in the City of Boston. This module reviews the purpose and goals of the MIC and the roles, responsibilities, and tasks of the various incident command sections.

The Stephen M. Lawlor Medical Intelligence Center (MIC) functions as the multi-agency coordinating center (MACC) for public health and healthcare organizations for the City of Boston and its partners. During an emergency, the MIC performs three main functions: situational awareness and information sharing; resource coordination; and human services coordination. The MIC aids in public health and medical response and recovery efforts to any planned or unplanned event impacting the health and safety of the metropolitan Boston region.

This module reviews the purpose and goals of the MIC and the roles, responsibilities, and tasks of the various positions and sections of the MIC Incident Command System (ICS). This module may be taken prior to an event by any individual who could be assigned a role in the MIC, or accessed to provide just-in-time training in the case of an actual event.

Lawlor Boston Medical Intelligence Center (MIC), including: Healthcare partners, Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) staff, local, state, and federal healthcare partners, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and affiliated organizations working in ESF 8 functions.
