Learn what it means to be a Boston MRC member!
Orientation is the first step to becoming a member of the Boston MRC and will prepare you to volunteer in an emergency or at a special event such as the Boston Marathon. The course covers the important role of Boston MRC members, when and how members are activated, potential functions during an activation, and how to prepare yourself and your family for an emergency. Orientation is a pre-requisite for all other Boston MRC trainings, and is required to volunteer at emergencies or special events.

The DelValle Institute for Emergency Preparedness is the Education & Training branch of the Office of Public Health Preparedness. In conjunction with Boston EMS, a bureau of the Boston Public Health Commission, the DelValle Institute provides high-quality all-hazards training and exercises to develop and enhance capabilities-based preparedness. This course is supported by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) through the Boston Public Health Commission Office of Public Health Preparedness, with funding from The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Public Health Emergency Preparedness Cooperative Agreement.
